Please note that some of the vaccinations courses take 3
months, so think about travel arrangements well in advance of
your travel dates. Remember that requirements may differ
depending on the type of holiday or work you may be
undertaking. A holiday spending 2 weeks in a resort will
sometimes require fewer vaccinations than a holiday backpacking
in areas with few tourists.
If you are planning a holiday abroad and are likely to need
vaccinations or just advice, you first need to complete a
travel form. This form can be downloaded here or collected from
Reception. Please give as much detail as you can about
your intended trip, including a full itinerary, to help
the Practice Nurses properly assess your needs.
Once completed, return the travel form to the
surgery. Our reception staff will then book you an
appointment with the Practice Nurse in two or more weeks after
receipt of the completed travel form. Please
ensure you provide a daytime telephone number so the Practice
Nurse can call you if there are any queries on the information
you have provided.

Travel vaccinations are not all provided free of charge on
the NHS. We do not keep all vaccinations in stock and some have
to be ordered and paid for in advance. Please be aware that no
refund will be given once vaccines have been ordered.

Malaria Tablets: Have to be started
before you go on holiday. It depends which
tablets you take as to when they have to be started and what
the cost is. Some types of anti-malarial tablets can be bought
over the counter, rather than having to be prescribed, but you
can only use certain tablets in certain countries, so please
check with the Practice Nurse and on the website.
