We have invested in a telephone system which should make it easier for you to contact us. Peak demand still occurs from 8.30am to 11.30am and whilst morning surgeries are in progress. If you are calling to book a routine appointment, please try to delay your call until after 11.30am. Not only will you find it easier to contact us, but you could be helping another person who needs an urgent appointment that day. Please telephone if possible between 11.30am and 4.00pm for non urgent matters when the lines are quieter, and always after 2.00pm for test results. If you have asked us to call you on a mobile phone, please make sure it is switched on and you have a phone signal where you are going to be. If possible, please leave a landline number as an alternative. If you miss the call you requested, we cannot guarantee that another call can be made again the same day. Telephone ConsultationsSometimes you may find it helpful to speak to the doctor by telephone rather than face-to-face. The surgery offers a limited number of pre-booked telephone consultations each week. These are booked to an appointed time, and the doctor will call you then for the consultation. Telephone consultations are not always appropriate, but if, for example, the doctor does not have to carry out a physical examination, or is following up a pre-existing problem with you, it may be an alternative to consider. Our receptionists may on occasions offer you a telephone consultation as an alternative to a face-to-face appointment if it is appropriate. You always have the choice of accepting it or not. |
