Registration Clinic
All new patients will be asked to see a member of the practice team
within one month of registering for a simple health check. This enables
us to obtain details of your past medical problems and to provide better
care. It is a requirement on us to ensure that this valuable opportunity
to collect information on your health is accepted.
Cervical Smears
We recommend that all women between the ages of 25
and 49 should have a screening smear every three years and between the
ages of 50 - 64 every five years. We run a recall programme inviting
patients to see the practice nurse for this. However, if you feel your appointment is overdue please
contact us on 01869 322942
to arrange an appointment.
All smear results are
communicated in writing to the patient as soon as we receive them.
If you have not heard from us three months after the smear has been
taken please ring and ask to speak to a practice nurse.
Well Person Health Checks We recommend a health check if you have not seen your doctor in the last
three years. This may be booked with our Health Visitor.
Diabetic Clinic
Katie Milne and Jane Stanford run regular diabetic
clinics. Patients may call The Health Centre to book appointments
for this.
Hypertension Clinic Patients with hypertension and other cardiovascular problems are seen in
our cardiovascular risk clinic. Appointments may be arranged through
your own doctor or booked direct with Barbara Nichols.
Asthma Clinic A weekly asthma clinic is held on Thursdays between 3.15pm
– 5.30pm. Patients may telephone for an appointment.
We
encourage all patients with asthma to be seen at least annually.
It would be helpful if you could bring any treatment you are on
to the appointment.
Child Development Clinic Child health development checks are performed by all the partners.
Child Immunisation Clinic This takes place every Wednesday from 2.00 - 2.45pm in conjunction with
the health visitors.
Minor Surgery All the partners perform minor surgery. This should first be discussed
with your doctor in a normal surgery appointment.
Contraception Advice
All of the doctors offer a full range of family planning care during
routine consultations. Emergency contraception is available on site and
is a fully confidential service.
Holiday Vaccinations Advice and all holiday vaccinations, including yellow fever, are
available from the practice nurse. Some vaccines are not available
routinely on the NHS and a fee may be charged.
Non-NHS Examinations Medical examinations for special purposes eg elderly drivers,
pre-employment, insurance medicals etc, can be arranged by appointment. A fee, as recommended by the British Medical Association, may be payable
for these examinations.
